Motion Captured

With such great snowy weather in Aachen this week I have taken to walking via the main square to work every day looking for some nice snowy photo ops. I saw this flock of pigeons and noticed that they were heading to do a pass of the town hall, so I framed up the shot and was lucky that the pigeons flew right into it! I really like the contrast of the birds which are always in motion with the stoic town hall, which has stood there for amost 1200 years.

This is beautiful!! Love the comp and the birds really do make the shot for me as well. In fact, because of the coolness of the shot, it reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock's movie from the 60's "The Birds".
