Stary, stary night... by harveyzone

Stary, stary night...

...but not as colourful or swirly as one of Van Gogh's!

A clear night tonight after several days of fog and cloud. So one fisheye lens, on a tripod, in the garden, pointing almost straight up.

The Great Bear (aka Big Dipper, Plough etc) is in the top left between the trees. Gemini is centre bottom, with Pollux and Castor, the two bright stars, and Auriga is to the right. You can just about see Betelgeuse and the top of Orion on the very bottom.

It just shows just how much light pollution is in the sky from the motorway, Birmingham and Bromsgrove.

It also shows just how dirty my camera sensor is getting.
I like it. The tree branches add atmosphere.
