Film week nears it's end with Steven Spielberg's 1982 film, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
I was driving home this evening after having picked up Ben from a Halloween party, when I noted that the moon was nearly full and I had this bizarre idea of dangling a figure in front of it to make an ETesque image. Well, it isn't as easy as I had envisaged. In order to get the scale right, you need a long lens, and the figure to be a long way away, and then the figure ended up spinning so it is never quite right. And finally you have a depth of field problem and can never get them both sharp without stopping down and pushing the time and/or iso up, which means that you cannot freeze the swinging movement and loose clarity.
So I eventually gave up and took a picture of the moon. And then I took a picture of a Lego figure. And then I pasted them together. Anyway, it is still probably less manipulated than the original was.
@mariadarby It does look a bit like Sam in silhouette, but it is really a backlit Lego figure of Lord Voldemort with a wig on (which I chose for the cape), riding a motorbike not a BMX, so it doesn't look much like him in proper light :-)
