I was practicing micro-photography using this tulip. The biggest problem I had, was with the blurred patel - remove it or leave it? I do not like to improve nature. It is probably better like that. Something not so obvious.
I have been interested in photography all my life and remember quite well developing my first black and white films myself... My favorite subjects are...
Like the black against the yellow. Difficult one - I think its fine to have some petals soft focus so long as the sharp part forms the main part of the image - my view only :-)
Lovely shot. I agree with Photo Bird, it's always difficult with focus on closeup photography. Quite often the soft focus on part of the shot enhances the shot, as long as the section that you want to draw the eye to is in focus. In this case, it looks great, I wouldn't remove it. In a situation where you want the whole of the closeup to be in focus, you could try 'focus stacking'. It takes a lot longer and requires post processing, but you can achieve some amazing results.
Thank you all for your comments! There is very hard to caught the border between soft and sharp parts.
