This tree trunk is shown from the shaded side, but some of the young leaves were illuminated by the sun. The fountain was in front of the tree and it was also in the sun. I played with time and sharpness. One shot focuses on splashes of water and the other focuses on young leaves. The editing is identical (synchro in Lightroom). I couldn't decide which version was better.
I have been interested in photography all my life and remember quite well developing my first black and white films myself... My favorite subjects are...
It's very abstract and the tree almost looks like a street to me. I think I would have played with the orientation of this one to see if it could be turned on its side or upside-down with the same balanced effect. A little cropping off the bottom would also tighten the composition up, Artistic choices in the long run and every person will see those differently!
@olivetreeann Thank you Anna. I also like more this capture with the sharpness on the leaves. But there is some power hidden in the more abstract one. I think I need some editing idea.
