This is the last industrial plant in the center of Warsaw. It used to be the largest printing house in Poland, but no one has printed here for many years. I pass this demolition every day and only got interested in it today. I noticed chairs upstairs, as if someone was about to sit down there.
I have been interested in photography all my life and remember quite well developing my first black and white films myself... My favorite subjects are...
Very interesting detail… the stacks of chairs look very usable… surprising they weren’t removed before demolition began. This shot has so much to look at… nice tight composition.
I feel the same as Mags. I guess there is not the need for printing houses on such a large scale anymore. I still read a hard copy newspaper every day, but I know I am in the minority. Your photo captures the changing times.
I saw the chairs instantly and thought "How could anyone forget to bring the chairs?!" Good catch! Sorry to see a company go- but I guess space in the city is always in demand.
I wondered about the chairs. When I first looked at the photo I thought they were a piano and pondered on why anyone would slice up an apartment building so close to the living area.
