This tree trunk is shown from the shaded side, but some of the young leaves were illuminated by the sun. The fountain was in front of the tree and it was also in the sun. I played with time and sharpness. One shot focuses on splashes of water and the other focuses on young leaves. The editing is identical (synchro in Lightroom). I couldn't decide which version was better.
I have been interested in photography all my life and remember quite well developing my first black and white films myself... My favorite subjects are...
I like this one better. I like the clarity of the leaves and the way the bokeh is opposite of that. I also like that you can tell it's a tree over the blurred "x" version which looks more like a road to me than a tree with a fountain in front of it. Just mho!
