A full day of walking in the Black Mountains. This day was quite an adventure as we picked up a (very) minor road to our starting point and then encountered a flock of sheep being herded ahead of us. Our car was not happy with the slow pace of progress and caused us some alarm. We then took the final mile on the most ridiculously pot-holed road I have ever encountered. How they had the cheek to keep the "warning speed bumb" signs, I do not know.
All worth it for the walk. Up several peaks around two lakes and meandering back down through peat, a little bog and a distinct lack of clear pathways! A fine sense of achievement and all without rain. This shot is towards the end of the walk when feeling relaxed enough about our route to pause and get the camera out. All we had to do was reach the lake beyond, and then wander a couple of km down the well marked path and past the trout farm back to the car. Apart from the smell of burning rubber, we had no trouble getting back.
