I have enjoyed finding out about Morandi and discovering how much I like his work.
In trying to create a still life in his style, I realise that there is so much more to consider than I had at first thought. Although I have ended up with a composition and colouring that I am happy with, I don't think I have properly settled on a specific period of his work and one of the main limitations is that I can't really find the functions within Photoshop that might help me to emulate the brush strokes. I have, I think, succeeded in adding the dark edging around the objects and for me, for this evening, that is achievement enough.
Your photo inspired me to do some reading on Morandi and like you, I enjoyed learning about his life and his art. With this image, I think you are successful in creating a still life in his style...the objects, colors, and composition reflect your careful analysis of the important characteristics of his still life paintings. I'm with Madeleine...I'll vote for you if you get selected. Fav! :-)
You nailed the photo aspect of the challenge. I haven't seen any photos by others in the challenge, but it seems it would take some significant PS skills to outclass this image.
