Shamefully, I can not remember who it was that saw fit to gift me with this pillow some 23 years ago. I do know that it has been a friend over all of these years.
Initially in use to help comfort during pregnancy, it became a godsend for propping heads and resting limbs during the breast feeding and rocking to sleep years. When no longer needed for infants, I reclaimed it to sooth painful necks and shoulders and more latterly it has become an essential aid to save neck pain and get comfortable on long car journeys.
It is rather a grubby specimen and the lavender aroma is long long gone. I did try to replace it some years ago, only nothing, simply nothing does the job as well.
Pop in the microwave for two minutes, for instant comfort and easing of all those aches and pains. I think I might just do that now ...
Thank you @summerfield for prompting me to take part in the mundane-pillow challenge and enabling me to remember that some of the mundane things around us are those that serve us so well.
Beautiful abstract image with very nice editing, Helen! So wonderful to have this special pillow for all the precious memories and also to be able to use on a daily basis for comforting your aches and pains. I think I would keep it forever. :-)
@wag864 I love that - a pillow novella! I do go on a bit and get carried away with my narrative. People don't seem to mind - I am always amazed that it is read.
@maggiemae yes it certainly has - although I admit to buying a memory foam neck pillow for my forthcoming flight in November. Hope you might find a good one some day.
I love your editing here Helen, it's very interesting. And that sounds like an amazing pillow! I never did get one that was so comfortable that I would keep it... but I'm glad you did. No item like this can be replaced :)
