Unloved

These two boats were purchased by a local on the Isle of Mull with the intention of using one to repair the other and make it seaworthy again.

Time has passed by, and as the boats deteriorate further and attract interest and exploring feet, they have been declared unsafe. The local has been asked to move them.

A shame, because they make a sufficiently attractive feature at this roadside bay (approaching the rarity of public toilets) on the Isle of Mull, near Salem, that we stopped the car after several times of passing, so that I could photograph them.

I've posted a detail view in my other album.

This photo has the elements of a good subject with a fascinating background nicely kept within focus! fav

Rusty and intriguing.

At least they have each other and they seem to be in love huddled together on the beach.

A pity, I would love to see one of these sailing again... But an excellent photographic subject!

Wonderful subject, I can see why you decided to stop.

It is a great object... I like old boats, but in time they "die" or get renewed so take the opportunity while you can...

Abandoned boats are sad. Seeing them deteriorate over the years is sadder. Your image conveys that image too me. Well done.

Great composition and textures. Something about decay brings out the photographer in us, doesn't it?

Yes, I do think they add a lot of local flair to the scenery. Good shot!
