Moonlight in the Bay by helenhall

Moonlight in the Bay

Taken on holiday after an evening meal in Tobermory. It was 10 pm, and still plenty of daylight, but the moon was also competing to light up the bay.

This is my contribution to the challenge which was ongoing at the start of my holiday, and which I hadn't managed to address. The idea was to use a starburst to enhance, rather than be the main feature of an image. I noticed the beginnings of a starburst on the mast of the ship, and after watching a tutorial on creating a starburst I was able to download one - ready to use. How cool is that? I toned it down to a suitable level to complement the image here. I have also learned about setting a layer mode to blend in photoshop. Wow - I never knew about that before! Pleased to have learned something new.
And a reflection too - lovely!

Lovely evening light. We don't get light like this here at night. In winter it is dark by 5 pm and in summer dark at about 8 pm.

Lovely evening light. It's always nice to find a new editing button, I often quickly forget where I found it though!
