We are staying in Lancashire for Easter week so I'm needing to get used to a totally different visual environment for photography. The surfaces and edges of things are much softer than in the city. Many of the pictures I've taken so far since arriving look bland and formless (compared to London images). I have a new deep respect for landscape photographers!
Constructive criticism very much appreciated - keen to learn more and improve. I bought a decent camera in February 2016 and joyed this wonderful space...
A lovely rural scene, I know what you mean about the difference in country/rural shots and city. I have just spent a long weekend in London and was spoilt for choice, back in rural Suffolk the photos are there, the scenery is beautiful, I just find it harder to produce the same impact.
@judithdeacon@gaylewood Really appreciate your comments. Thanks. Judith: that's it! It's easier to get impact in the city, with all those straight lines, reflective surfaces and defined shadows. Also narrative is there in abundance because so much is happening. In the countryside so much of what's happening is not at the level of human awareness or has to be patiently waited for.
