These are the hands of a friend working on the handmade patchwork quilt she is making as a present for her son on his wedding. The quilt follows a Penrose tiling pattern so there's no repetition and hence is super-difficult to plan and do. It has taken her a year. We went round to help her remove the template paper pieces from the back of the work.
