This morning I walked from the new Oxford Parkway station to a work meeting and passed this farm, just outside the city centre boundary. I was aiming to capture the texture of the just-turned soil but haven't been very successful at that.
Constructive criticism very much appreciated - keen to learn more and improve. I bought a decent camera in February 2016 and joyed this wonderful space...
Good shot. I like the sense of space given by the trees on the left and the open field to the right. To capture the texture the of the ploughed earth, you need light and shadow. Could you nip back early or late in the day, depending on the orientation, when the sun is a bit low in the sky and casting oblique shadows.
@cornishsnapper I really appreciate you taking the trouble to comment. You're right about the light but unfortunately it's not a place I pass very often. I don't have much experience with landscapes (living in London) but will try to remember when I'm next in the countryside somewhere
