Looking out, looking in

This is my sister taken at Hauser & Wirth which is an art gallery in what was once a farm in north Somerset. Has nice exhibition spaces, landscaped gardens, café and shops. A pleasant couple of hours if you're in the area:

Nice composition, good use of natural framing to bring us into the subject. I really like this in b&w.

Ah, now, this is interesting! Manuella and Iwan Wirth live (or at least spend a lot of time there) in Scotland, in a very grand house/castle on the Invercauld Estate, very near my dad's home in Braemar. They have a field of Highland Cows which wander around their home - reportedly given by him to her as a birthday gift. They have recently bought over the local hotel in Braemar, (population less than 1000) and are currently upgrading it to a 5-star hotel. The local residents are a little bit anxious as to how it will work out. It will kill or enhance greatly the village, but it remains to be seen. Opening next year, seemingly. I'm going over to visit dad tomorrow, so I'll try and take a picture of the hotel 'work in progress', for your interest. Lovely image, and super POV.

@jamibann Ah! That's very interesting. I would be most interested to see your shot(s). The place in Somerset is certainly very snazzy. I bit too much so for my taste but it was undoubtedly lovely to see art in such beautiful surroundings and, all credit, entrance is free.

@helenm2016 Well, I have to confess that I never took that photograph. There is still too much scaffolding around the hotel building, and I couldn't see a decent photograph. However, when I do, I will tag you. However, in the interim, I did post a photo of the Wirth home in Scotland (minus the highland cows) way back ... here's the link :

Oh, these links never work for me. Grr. If you can be bothered, look back to my photo of 14 May 2017. :-)

Thanks. No wonder the locals are concerned. It’s a beautiful scene as is. Hope they don’t spoil it.
