We had a day over the Rimutaka Hills in the Wairarapa, but due to a fatality on the train tracks in the afternoon, had to travel home by bus which was a bit harrowing in the conditions.
Great perspective! I do not like bus rides on curvy roads like this due to a bad experience I had, in which the whole bus load of people screamed in fright.
