We experienced a 5.7 magnitude earthquake in Wellington today. We are used to the odd earthquake, but since Christchurch they all make us more nervous that they could be the big one, was the talk of the town so wanted to capture it artistically.
Cool representation of today's quake. I just managed not to spill my cup of tea in the midst of the jolts x 2 that we felt in very quick succession in Marlborough too. A bit scary but you have captured the feeling very artistically!
Very creative representation of an earth shake. Glad it wasn't too serious. I can't figure out what the circle is in the sky.
Co-oincidentally, just today I stocked up on some canned goods for my earthquake supplies AND extra cat food. Can't have kitty going hungry. :-)
@pasadenarose thanks. we had a bigger one 2 days later which had more of an impact, no deaths or injuries but 9 buildings (mine included) can no longer be tennanted for work so we are in temporary digs and move this week to our new permanent one! whew! the circle in the sky is a well loved hanging sculpture in our Civic Square :-) check out my pic for 2 days later to see the damage in the supermarket I was in!
