Oh, you have Little Free Libraries in New Zealand, too?? Is 'Read and Borrow Cubby' what they are called there?
I run across them quite often, though I've never stopped at one.
I read an article online that said here in Los Angeles, our officials have deemed them illegal, saying that the owners need a PERMIT to build one on their own property. A permit to build what is basically a birdhouse? Such nonsense.
I think that they are a wonderful idea.

Yes, it's on the honor system. I think you can take a book and then return it when you're done, or also take a book and put another in its place.

What a great idea. There should be more of them around.
