@cejaanderson I did not realize they go down to you. There was such a successful program saving them, they now have a spring, as well as a fall hunt to try to cull them. There are so many they are ripping up the tundra way up north and these grasses along the St. Lawrence.
I love this rain shot. As Jane said, they're here in great numbers now. There are two places in New Mexico that host 20,000 of them each winter, along with many places that see smaller yet still impressive numbers visit.
@cejaanderson@mbemis When they take off on masse or come in to roost on the farmers fields around Sorel, Quebec it is almost heart stoppingly impressive. I love the beauty of these magnificent birds. I also know stoppingly is not a word but heck, that is what it is.
