I have a medical implant and after eight years the batteries needed to be replaced. Wednesday was the day for the out-patient surgery. It went well, but I wasn't up for photography
Oh gosh, so this is why you were too tired to move from the chair to the bed easily. I saw your other post first. Take care and hope the new battery kicks in good soon.
Glad your implant replacement went well. Get lots of rest. My husband has an ICD that was implanted in 2006....9 yrs ago. So far the battery still works, but he will probably have to go & have it replaced at some point. One good thing, it has never gone off. He has to have it checked every 3 months.
@danette@vegansusan Thank you. I'm actually doing pretty well. No real pain unless I do one of those full body stretch every muscle yawns. Those are bad. Otherwise just a bit uncomfortable. The miracles of modern medicine are amazing.
@cimes1 I had mine put in in 2006 (guess my math was off), but because its sending out an electrical pulse every 2 minutes or so the battery depletes faster. It's for epilepsy, not a defibrillator. I'm so glad your husband's has never needed to go off. If he does have to have it replaced at some point, it wasn't too bad of an experience.
