We drove over to Old Bennington, VT. You can find out more about this area at http://www.bennington.com/chamber/walking/oldbennington.html As you can see the Inn is deteriorating. Across the street is the "Old First Church" where poet Robert Frost is buried.

These old building that are about to fall apart have a charm of their own. If walls could talk, I'll be they'd have some thriller tales to tell. I love it.
@vernabeth Thank you Beth, the charm is still there, you just wish it could be fixed @sourkraut Thank you Lina, it does make an interesting photo on the other side some of the windows have been broken out @tamaralara Thank you Tamara, it looks like it was a grand inn in its day @webfoot Thank you Paul, I hope some organization looks into its repair, even giving it over as a learning experience to a vocational school
@tralo29 Thank you Tracey, the old wood has a lot of character @seattle Thank you Constance, I looked at the windows, but no ghosts @kaylaferguson Thank you Kayla, it has a lot of character @highway266 Thank you Ted, I try to perpetuate the views and will send a copy of the picture to the local historical society @marydreams Thank you Mary, I would not go in it on a stormy night @shutterbugger Thank you Jenn, old buildings had character @naomi Thank you Naomi, it has interesting architecture @scooter thank you Scooter, it is about three miles to the New York border
Wow, what an incredible building.. I imagine there's all kinds of interesting things creeping around in there (whether it be amongst the living or not!).. You've really captured an almost spooky feel with the slightly upward perspective..
You can tell that this was once a majestic building...even in its current state it is still quite impressive! Thanks for the info about Frost---he's always been a favorite of mine.
@laurentye Thank you Lauren, older buildings are normally more appealing to me @simonfern Thank you Simon, I would be very careful walking around inside @buggus Thank you Oleta, not a place to be on a dark and stormy night @shutterbugger Thank you Jenn, I appreciate you commenting @5unflow3r Thank you Trina, all of the old section of Bennington looks to be quite impressive.
