At Oak Island, NC, two very prominent features where the pelicans and the dunes. Every morning, we saw pods of pelicans (over 300 pelicans) flying east to west and then in the evening they would fly west to east. Occasionally they would land in the ocean and do a little fishing - I didn't have a long enough telephoto, but did have binoculars. The dunes were a constant giving pretty views at all times day and night.
