Each year at the annual Holiday Dinner, the Buena Historical Society honors 2 or 3 citizens who have made a contribution to Buena Vista Township and/or Buena Borough. This year we honored 2 WWII veterans who have given their time and effort to many organizations in the the municipalities - Joe Giercyk and Rudy Rossi
Retired educator - taught mathematics in high school, went back to graduate school, worked in research labs, and finally went back and taught computer science...
Wow - that sounds like such an amazing night! My grandfather was a WWII vet - I never got a chance to ask him about his stories and now it's too late. :(
