Starkness of Winter by hjbenson

Starkness of Winter

Went out for a walk today. The colours of Spring, Summer, and Autumn are gone; Winter is here, even though we have only have gotten a dusting of snow so far this season.

To see my other photo for today http://365project.org/hjbenson/others/2012-01-07

I like the starkness of the trees.. The B&W was a great choice to help really make a statement..

Love the starkness & contrast

love the bare trees with the b&w processing...nicely captured

Wonderful wintry feel!

The B&W really makes the trees look unattractive. Makes it look like winter isn't so much fun. ;-) Great job!

I like this in black and white :)

It's interesting to see how the change of seasons changes the mood of the same landscape... from rebirth to slumber and back again.

@buggus Thank you Oleta, I went out with the idea in my head and B&W helped
@mikichelle Thank you Miki, that was what I was trying to capture
@angievega Thank you Angie, the look neater in b&w

@jeancarl Thank you Jean, that was feeling I was after with this photo

Lovely shot, the seasons are strange. They seem so late this year. Here is New Zealand, summer is usually half way through, but we've had so much rain and it seems as if our usualy summer hasn't really begun!
Love your choice for black and white!

Very pretty winter white.

@angieqs Thank you Angie, each season brings its own joy and sorrow in its time, from photos New Zealand seems like a beautiful place with a lot of contrasts, I hope to visit there sometime.
@jendee3 Thank you Jen, winter - I find - is a season of contrasts
