Gail and I are still in West Orange, but will be home tomorrow. Out of all the challenges that Jerry Plume gave us, the selfie is the hardiest one for me to do. I prefer to be on the other side of the camera. The photo was taken from my brother-in-law's back porch. I focused on a tree , put on the timer, went over to the tree and tried to smile :)
Retired educator - taught mathematics in high school, went back to graduate school, worked in research labs, and finally went back and taught computer science...

@hjbenson I was so self concious when took my first selfie.....after that, it was like the flood gates opened on ideas and willingness to get infront of the camera!

I hear you! I hate selfies, so for the selfie challenges I have done I usually just use a part of me! :) This is a very nice portrait and I love the background you chose! :)

I once did a course with the "Open College of the Arts" on digital images (home study) and to my horror one of the projects was Self Portrait. I am so rarely in front of the camera. I give in from time to time to provide a shot for the family timeline :-)

You did a great job of getting a sharp closeup with the times. I'm not that brave yet. I understand the position of your face is the best for taking a good portrait. It isn't a good idea to take a face head on.
