My get-pushed challenge this week from Katie was to take some macros. This is less the 1 cm of a one of Gail's cameos. I can see I will need some practice on this since the shallow DoF.
Outside of adjusting the white balance and adding a frame, it is sooc.

Great start! The hardest part about macro is focusing. The best advice I ever got was to use manual and practice 'focusing with your body,' or leaning in or out to get the focus you want.
@pamfromcalgary Thank you Pam, it is a pretty cameo @jgilker Thank you Jessika, the art work on the cameo is amazing @sweetcalliope Thank you Jane, it is harder than I thought. @bkbinthecity Thank you Brian, I am more comfortable doing landscapes :)
@archaeofrog Thank you Katie, the focusing is quite hard, my distance vision is the same as when I was younger, but for close work I now need reading glasses and I am not sure if I will need to wear them when doing macro.
@sangwann Thank you Dione, I have never taken a photo with them on, it will be a different experience @archaeofrog Katie, thanks for the suggestion @cindyrez Thank you Cindy, I was surprised how much detail there was there
@sharritta thank you Sharon, macros are outside my comfort zone, so I should do more of them :) @netkonnexion Thank you Damon, sometimes you just get-pushed :)
