Mark asked me to come over and take a photo that will go into an article about him and the Pine Barrens. This is by the "resting tree" on his property with a hoop pole that used to be made here over 100 years ago.

@kerristephens Thank you Kerri, used the new lens :) @carrieoakey Thank you Carrie, just something a little different @sangwann Thank you Dione, had to get down for this one
@cindyrez Thank you Cindy, they were used to keep wooden barrels togeher @westcoastwallis Thank you Paula, put a rain coat on the snow and laid down on it. :)
@sparkle Thank you Juliette, one of the many items that are no longer made @swguevin Thank you Shelia, I was trying to make it different @bkbinthecity Thank you Brian, I enjoyed doing them for Mark @maggiemae Thank you Maggie, barrels are important as you mentioned, the 'resting tree' was a tree that was spared from being cut down over 100 years ago.
I like your shot. like the POV and the beautiful light on the tree and the shadows on the hoop pole. because it looks so big I didn't recognize it as a hoop pole around a barrel.
@kph129 Thank you Kristin, I wanted to try something different @exposure4u Thank you Wendy, sometimes it pays to get down. @naomi Thank you Naomi, I was trying to be creative @bruni Thank you Bruni, it accomplished my goal
Nice composition and perspective! So that's what a hoop pole is! You're lucky it's still around, these days there's a likelyhood that someone would grab it for scrap metal!
@cscecil Thank you Carolyn, it was - lying in the snow :) @julie Thank you Julie, I tried different positions and liked this best @morrisroos Thank you Don, I had just gotten the wide angle lens and it gave me some different views
