Makepeace Lake

I did go to Makepeace Lake about 3 miles on unpaved roads from my main album picture today.
are those 2 duckies in the water???
looks like a serene place

@angievega Thank you Angie; yes, they are ducks, but I forgot to bring the 100 - 300mm zoom lens. It is a very quiet place no other cars were there.

It is really a peaceful lake; when I was teaching at Stockton College, I would pass it and normally not see another car on the 5 miles I drove by it.

The lake looks peaceful with the ducks swimming around. I wonder how it got that name.

@vernabeth thank you Beth, the lake was made in the '30s by damning and flooding old cranberry bogs. It is c. 300 acres. It might have been a reaction to war clouds forming in Europe at that time

A lovely wild looking spot. I see it is manmade but I will bet the water fowl don't mind.

@wac Thank you Wendy, it was a lake then cranberry bogs and now back to a lake and the water fowl do like it.
