Expired Dreams by hmgphotos

Expired Dreams

I picked up some expired 120 film off of ebay, which just arrived today. Finally found a seller not marking up expired film twice the cost of fresh! <3 I should've bought more, honestly.... and now they're all sold out :( Definitely a rare find, as the lomography trendy hipsters have pushed up expired prices stupidly high!

Left to right: Fujichrome Provia 400F (E-6 slide, expired 2004), Kodak Ektachrome E200 (E-6 slide, expired 2003), and Fujicolor NPZ 800 Professional (C41 color, expired 2005).

I figured I could play around with cross processing on the slide films (hate to use my $$$ fresh Velvia) since they were only $2.50 a roll. Experiment a bit! They're in the freezer until the moment calls...

Taken with a Nikon D80, Nikkor 50mm f/1.8
Pardon my ignorance, but what's the expired films for?

@carrieoakey Taking pictures :) Just gives unpredictable results, especially if the film was not refrigerated/frozen this entire time.

That sounds interesting! It's like waiting for a bunch of surprises! :)

2.50 a roll? I'm paying 7.00 for fresh stuff! Wow. Must see the results of this.

@moncooga Cheap, huh? I really wish I bought more :( For my fresh, I get 400H for $18/pro pack of 5, and Velvia 100 for $23/pro pack. 120 format of course.

@hmgphotos I must buy in the 5 packs. I'm going broke buying it one at a time.

@moncooga I'm not sure it's really that much cheaper as a pro pack. But I buy my film from Freestyle Photo. They actually beat B&H on certain films!! And otherwise I buy from B&H.
