MIssing: one hot water tank!

Ugh! Not how I wanted to spend my Friday, but after discovering water leaking from the hot water tank last night, I didn't have much of a choice. At least I didn't have to pay to have it replaced since we are only renting while we are here in NH for a year. Hummmm, guess the pipe qualifies as a ring for the Nov. word challenge for today!
Really cool shot, Lisa, and I love the water droplet. We just had to replace our water heater. Our old one was 14 years old so I guess I shouldn't complain.

@mittens The new ones only last about 6 or 7 years now. This one was a $1000 hot water heater and it only lasted 7 years.

Big whoops! Great rusty shot, though not what you wanted to see.

Very creative capture - way to make the best of a bad situation!

UGH! I haven't had the joy of that one yet. Good shot.

Great perspective of these pipes and love the water drop. I just changed my water heater because I thought it was leaking. After replacing we realized it was a pipe leaking not the water heater... wasted day and money!

@archaeofrog @linnypinny @tsteall Thanks!
@kathyladley They were hoping it was the water pipes, since they are corroded by the hard water, but it was actually leaking out of the top of the hot water heater itself.

Oh- that's no fun- but so much better to discover it before it burst!

@olivetreeann Absolutely. Didn't make that much of a mess at all. The pipes are really a mess considering the house is only 7 years old

Lisa, I'm your get pushed partner for this week - yeah! Your push is to take a nighttime long exposure (>8 sec) with boats or stars in the capture, and both if possible. If you don't have a clear night sky, then you have to have some light trails. Good luck and I'm looking forward to seeing what you produce! Have fun!

@mikegifford Mike, I will try. I don't know that my camera will let me do that. I hope it does. I'll play with it and see what I can figure out.

A relief you didn't have to pay....what a way to incorporate your day into November's word for the day!!

@pixiemac Thanks!

@homeschoolmom Okay, if the L110 will not let you control the shutter speed for long exposures, let me know and I'll give you another right away. Good luck!

@mikegifford It won't, but my daughter's iPhone will, so I'm going to use her phone to do it. Can't wait, haven't shot a picture like that since...oh, I don't know, college? With real film? A new camera is on my Christmas list!
