The base of this pine tree was easily 5 feet across, but it split about 7 feet up the tree.....I just found this tree to be very interesting. However, I'm feeling a little like I'm stuck in a rut. After spending much of September and early October leaf peeping, I'm finding it hard to find other subjects to photograph! LOL!
@tremerryn Thanks! It does look like a good climber from this angle, but in reality the branches are probably start about 20-30 feet up! This tree is massive. I'd guess it to be about 75-100 feet tall.
Great pov. I've tried to get this type of shot but I struggled to get the exposure right - either the sky was too bright or the tree too dark. Do you have any advice?
That is an awesome tree and you've picked the perfect pov for one so tall. You might want to try the Nominate 4 November word list if really feel stuck. You should be able to find it in the archives of the themes and competitions. A word is suggested for each day. You can pick and choose, or do the whole month. You can do them on the assigned day, or just do them at will. It can be a good jump start if you're having trouble coming up with your own ideas.
@pflaume@anazad511@timandelke@linnypinny@riverlandphotos@mittens@twr Thanks! @olivetreeann I have done some of the daily themes like macro Monday and such, as well as the word a day, but I still find myself going back to trees and leaves! LOL! @dh Delena, I took this one on a very bright day. I believe the sun was behind me, not the tree. And, because all of the leaves had fallen off the hardwood trees around it, light was able to get in. If that doesn't work, adjust for light during editing.
Lovely pov and light. I know exactly what you mean, it is sometimes hard to move on to other subjects and see other things around you if you have been quite focused on something particular.

Hope this works!
