There's fog on that mountain!

Our Christmas trip to Grandma's house in WV took just over 9 hours, because the weather cooperated with our travel plans. Not so much for the trip back to NH. Misty rain and thick fog, slowed us down early in the trip, and heavy rains slowed us down for the rest of the trip. Took us over 13 hours to get home. At least it wasn't icy -- just took a long time.

Filling in some shots I forgot to upload!
Definitely looks like an intimidating drive! Mountains in fog are no fun, but glad there wasn't ice.

@archaeofrog On a few of the higher mountains, it was like pea soup. It's a horrible trip with there is snow and ice.

Lovely picture, awful conditions!

@therubysusan Thanks. This wasn't the worst mountain. I have another pic where the semi right in front of us is disappearing into the fog. But, because of the semi, the windshield is so messy, it's not a good picture.

@homeschoolmom Maybe it's best to forget some things!

I got to drive through WV once and loved it (But it was sunny). Some of the switchbacks (?) are just amazing. This is a wonderful capture.

@swilde Oh, my, that would get old in a hurry.
@joansmor The back road are quite spectacular, and scary for people who aren't used to mountain roads.
