Thief in the neighborhood! by homeschoolmom

Thief in the neighborhood!

This is a switch. Usually the squirrels steal from birdfeeders. But, this time, this bluejay is stealing something out of this squirrel nest behind our house. It looks like it is either a potato chip or a piece of fruit that was probably originally stolen out of a birdfeeder. Whatever it is, this is one brazen bird.

If you look at yesterday's collage, you can see the fat squirrel who lives in this nest sitting on it while eating some berries.

Also works for January word (for the 5th) bird.
That is a really unusual but great find. Who knew the bluejays were so cheeky, they always seem a bit timid to me. Lovely capture.

@bristolrose Thanks. Actually, they are usually known as the yard thug. They usually run other birds out the yard when they come in. They can be quite aggressive.
@linnypinny Thanks!

Blue Jays are pretty brash! But squirrels can be too- so it's sort of a payback- lol! Good shot.

That bird is certainly fearless. At first I thought it was the bird's nest!

@pixiemac @quietpurplehaze He was fearless. He flew in and out of that nest several times stealing stuff.

Great shot, one very cheeky Jay, strangely I have caught the birds stealing from the Squirrels in one of my posts today. They must be spreading the word on Twitter. Lol

@markp Hahaha, they must be. My son saw him back up there again today. And the squirrels weren't even out, way too cold.
