My daughter's 17th birthday is today. We bought her birthday cake at Carlos Bake Shop in Hoboken, NJ, home of Cake Boss, when we were in New York City. We stood in line for an hour, but it was worth it. Best red velvet cake I've ever eaten, very moist and light. YUM! It even survived the trip back to NH quite well. My only regret it that it is only big enough to give each of us two pieces! LOL!
Wow.....this looks divine, just lovely, there would be too much to choose from I bet!
I watch that show on pay TV,lol....
Happy Birthday to your Daughter, the Cake sounded so yummy, lol.
@skippysue Thanks. It was fabulous. They had tons to choose from, but my daughter's favorite is red velvet. And it was only $31, which is less than we paid for the gross ugly cake we got for my son's birthday from a local bakery in NH. Their hazelnut cream puffs were amazing!
@homeschoolmom LOL....I would go nuts in a Bakery like that,so not good for the wastes, but so yummy, everything they make looks so great.
My children like the Red Velvet cupcakes.....I would love to visit your part of the World some day. :)
Oh jealous!! We are massive fans of 'Cake Bwoss' over here but I've often wondered whether it tastes good - good to know that it does! And most of all happy birthday to your daughter. Should get her together with my son ;0)
@skippysue That's why we had to go to New York City. We are only in New England for a year and we move south in about a month. Trying to see it all while we can.
@jennywren A red velvet cake was developed during one of the world wars when there was a shortage of chocolate. It has some cocoa in it and lots of red food dye. So, basically, it's a light chocolate cake with cream cheese icing. So yummy!
That's a piece of art in itself - pity you had to cut it up and devour it. I would have done the same. Gorgeous shot and happy birthday to your daughter.
@anazad511@swilde@susale@sangwann Thanks! @kwind Thanks! It was a Sunday morning when we went to the original store, so we didn't recognize anyone. There was also a huge festival going on in the street in front of it, which is why it was so crowded.
