In our move, some of the hand painted eggs I had got broken because they weren't packed correctly. Some of them were completely smashed, others just cracked. But, Ann @olivetreeann suggested I put them in a shadow box. Ann, my friend, you are a genius. My Sunday afternoon project turned out great. I put my two favorite ones in small shadow boxes and the rest in a larger shadow box. Because the big box was shallow, I had to break a couple of the bigger eggs that were only cracked. But, in the end, I have a great mosaic of Polish eggs (that I bought in Czechoslovakia) for my kitchen. Thanks, Ann!
Lisa I am absolutely thrilled that I came up with an idea that worked for you! I'm not sure if I completely qualify for genius status for this, (smiley face!) but I am tickled pink to have helped. They look great and I can just picture them "popping" off your red wall.
@swilde Me, too. My husband isn't so sure about it. But, I'm sure if some of his comic books got destroyed, he'd try to find a way to salvage them! LOL!
@ceilidh Thanks. @joansmor I thought about doing something like that, putting them in a clear apoxy. My husband's dad used that to secure the loose glass on the outside of this piece of bullet proof glass my husband had. @zosimasy@digitalrn Thanks!
This is wonderful! A great example of making the best of a sad situation. Love the way you put the pieces together. You and Ann are both so very creative!
What a great save. Super advice and I like what you could do to salvage the situation. Cause it's not good to cry over cracked eggs:). Great way to make an egg salad from it.
