Deconstructed sushi! by homeschoolmom

Deconstructed sushi!

Today, my daughter and I experimented with making our own sushi, but we don't have the correct tools to make real rolled sushi so we improvised a little. We made a deconstructed sushi with cucumbers, sticky rice, shrimp, smoked salmon, guacamole and a little chive to garnish. It was quite yummy! Not quite perfect yet, but it's getting there.
Not my thing, but seems you are finding a way to make it work.

Great looking sushi! (My daughter and I love it. One night she was determined to make her own and tried to cook her own rice. Unfortunately, it went beyond sticky to "mushy"....not good.)

@mzzhope Thanks!
@susale It was a little heavy on the cucumber, but still pretty tasty. It would be better if we had a fresh ripe avocado (I have one ripening right now for the next round) instead of guacamole.
