Holding my world in my hand! by homeschoolmom

Holding my world in my hand!

Playing with my crystal ball again. Learned some valuable lesson today. DO NOT use this in direct sunlight. It very quickly started burning my hand and made my deck railing smoke after just a few seconds. So, I had to go stand on my front porch in the shade. I still need to find a way to use this without holding it. It came with a little crystal stand, but it's only an inch square and no up where I need it. I'd rather not lay on the ground to take my pictures as we have fire ants that bite. Anyone have any ideas?
Great idea - caught my eye

I too learned about the sun. But if you hold it right it wont burn your hand.... Something else on the other hand..... Just have a bucket of water handy....

@amandal LOL! I had wrapped it in my shirt tail to come inside. I was afraid I'd set the grass on fire!
@zosimasy No kidding, that thing got hot within seconds. It was only on my deck rail maybe 5 seconds before it started smoking.

Love it! You can use anything as a support and then the little crystal stand to hold it right. I need to use mine.

I buy crystal candlesticks ( at second hand stores) of different heights to use. That works great for taking shots in the sand at the beach too. That gives the crystal ball some height so you can get your camera down low enough.

@birdy That's a fabulous idea. I have crystal candlesticks that I could probably use....or a crystal vase. Oh, I can't wait to try that! Thanks for the idea.
@rangerxenos Oh, no. LOL!

Fabulous clarity. I like Lois' idea of using a crystal candlestick to rest the ball on.
