For my Get Pushed challenge this week, I was challenged to take a picture depicting a song title. Nothing says American Pie (Don McLean, 1971) like an apple pie. I made this one today for Thanksgiving tomorrow because it's my father-in-law's favorite. Usually, my mother-in-law makes it, but she is still recovering from a broken leg back in August. I have watched her make pies for almost 30 years. I must have learned something. Usually, my pies look like a train wreck, but they all turned out pretty nice today. I hope they taste good tomorrow.
Now you are making me feel bad for not making an Apple Pie. I know I should have because everyone always loves it. I am in charge of dessert for 20 people so I took a poll on Facebook. Pumpkin won, followed by Pecan - they are the two easiest pies to make also so I really won by making 2 pumpkin pies and some other treats. But I still prefer Apple. Wish I was near you - I would stop in for a bite!
