No, not really, he's testing out his birthday present. a high-tech, lightweight sleeping mat. It rolls up really small and weighs less than 1 pound. He's collecting items for their big backpacking trip to Philmont Boy Scout Ranch next summer. He'll have to fit 2 weeks worth of clothes and gear into his backpack and hike for 8-10 miles a day in high elevation. And, check out his high-tech pillow. Yes, that's a gallon size ziploc bag. Boy Scouts are thrifty, don't you know!
@farmreporter@grammyn For something so small, it sure was expensive. Just that little sleeping mat was $100. They also sold blow up pillow for $39 and $49 each. Glad he likes the Ziploc bag idea.
