Seamus will do anything for a treat, even sit still for a moment. If this was a gif, you'd be able to see his nose moving as he was sniffing the treat I had in my hand. Vizsla's have great noses and are starting to be used more to sniff out bombs and drugs in airport luggage because they are very goofy and friendly and don't scare passengers. Seamus is only part Vizsla, the other part is lab.
Oh yes, he is definitely keyed in on that treat! Reminds me of the grandsons in KY. The first thing they ask me after they say hello is, "Grammy did you bring us treats?!" Fun shot!
I love your shot! My daughter hss a rescue dog, Ludo, from Spain and he looks just like a Vizla but is very small so I was interested in your commentary.
@quietpurplehaze Vizslas typically get to about 60 pounds, so they are good sized dogs with muscular chests and narrow hips. Seamus has some of that, except he has the lab head and huge neck and he's bigger that either the vizsla or lab usually are, weighing over 90 pounds and standing about 27 inches at the shoulder. They also call them Velcro dogs because they really bond and stick to one person (our youngest son). They are just big goofy dogs, so much fun, so loving. We really couldn't have asked for a better dog. We rescued him when he was about 1 1/2 years old. So, if Ludo is part vizsla, they have an awesome dog.
Love the wet nose.
Lisa, very interesting and thank you. Ludo is very much Clare my daughter's dog. I really must learn how to spell Vizsla!
