Pretty Red D3400

I broke down and brought a DSLR with lenses. I loved my old point-and-shoot (Nikon Coolpix P610), but it was starting to have some issues. They don't make the 610 any more, or even the B700 that was the next step up from it. All of Nikon's other point-and-shoot versions would be a step down for me. Plus, this camer cost about the same as the point-and-shoot. I loose some telephoto capability, but I jumped from 16 mp to 24. Now to learn how to use it before I got visit my daughter in France in November.

Wow- that lens looks bigger than the camera from this angle! You'll get used to it, but you may miss the convenience of the p & s which can fit easily into whatever purse you're carrying around. Enjoy you're new camera!
