With my elbows propped on the tailgate of my husband's truck, I captured this shot of the moon above my house. July word for today is vacation. I wish I were on vacation, but I'm kinda tired of travelling since we spent much of May and June on the road. I have taken a picture of the super moon from two different states -- NH and NC. I consider that travelling.
@cbell My first ones looked like blobs, too! Then someone on 365 told me that it was over exposed. Because it's night, your camera will keep the lens open. So you have to put it on a manual setting. I use the shutter setting on my Nikon and set it around 1/200, set focus on infinity and either use a tripod or steady the camera on the car roof. My camera will take 3 bracketed shots. Then you just adjust up or down until you get one you like.
@willowdragon Thanks! @lafish Thanks so much for the FAV! Check out my instructions above to Cheri. Another 365er told me how to a good moon shot last winter. Maybe it will help you get a good picture of the moon.
