Optical Illusion!

I'm not sure why, (distance, angle, bright sun?), but this old woman walking in front of me looks tiny, like a child. She was about my height, and I know this because I passed her two times on my walk route. The road looks huge, but it's barely a 2-lane road through our subdivision. Very strange!

I think it may have to do with her size compared to the buildings in the background. I see what you mean. The road has a nice curve.

@randystreat Oh, I never thought of that. It's just weird how it turned out. I wasn't even that far behind her! LOL!

The farther away, the smaller they look. You can put someone closer and put someone farther away and make it look like the closer one is holding them in their hand. I did this one time and it can be fun. I had my son with his hands out holding his two childen, one in each hand.

I find optical illusions so interesting. I'm not sure what is at play here to cause her to shrink, but I'm sure there's some explanation out there somewhere!
