The leaves faded on my driveway!

This might be the strangest thing ever....but my driveway has leaf shapes on it. I guess the fallen leaves faded in the rain? It's very strange.

Fossils! :-) We have some leaves here with tannin in them, so they stain. Might be something similar.

@danette That has to be it. I think the leaves are from my maple tree. At least, it's right below my maple tree.

Yes- those are Maple leaves (think Canadian flag!) and I do believe I've seen them do that to sidewalks when I was growing up in NJ. The Tannin theory sounds correct! And I think it makes your driveway look rather artistic!

@olivetreeann It looks better than the milk stains near my porch where my daughter dropped a gallon of milk the other night. LOL! Who knew milk would stain concrete...actually, I think it cleaned the concrete! As we scrubbed and scrubbed to get rid of it so it wouldn't smell. Now we have white stripes in places where the milk laid for a few minutes.
@ckwiseman I'd never seen it before we moved here either!

I guess the tannin leached out. Nicely spotted.
