While our town didn't have much damage, other than some downed trees, but our power was out for 36 hours and our water out for nearly 8 hours. Found some of this damage today when I was out driving around, including the roof of the church where my boys go to Boy Scouts. The gate on the top center is ours. The wind blew the gate inward nearly a foot, which is quite a feat considering th metal rod that holds it shut goes down into a pipe in the ground - the whole pipe was pushed nearly a foot into our yard. Too bad I didn't get a picture of the many closed roads this morning. We drove around several trees in one spot before the road became totally blocked by downed trees. And, I didn't even take a picture of it. I even had my camera with me. But. please remember everyone who lives south of me. Many were evacuated from their homes. Near Ft. Bragg, just south of me, two dams almost collapsed because of heavy rains.
Glad you are ok and you have your power back on. Electricity is important! I remember Katrina. Our electricity was out for almost two weeks. We were just thankful we didn't have other damage.
@claycameras Thanks. @annika82 Thanks! @cdc44 Some of our friends still don't have electricity and they are telling them anywhere between Thursday and Sunday. That's a long time. There are just so many trees down and flooding to the south of us. @francoise Thanks!
So glad to hear that you're ok- your travels sound like how it was around here after Sandy. Trees were down and blocking everything. It took them a few weeks to clear them all. Hopefully your clean-up will not take as long. Great collage.
@annika82 Thanks!

@francoise Thanks!
We had a cyclone here last year and were without power for 4 days.
