Cancelled

My hubby and boys have been planning for 2 years for their trek at Philmont Boy Scout Ranch on June 16. They were to hike 68 miles over 10 days, seeing many wonderful mountain views. Yesterday, it was cancelled due to the fire. They are trying to reschedule for late July or early August, but that will depend on how much damage the fire does before it is out and availability. They schedule these treks two years out and there are rarely cancellations once they have been paid for.
Oh no, so sad.

Very sad! And fires do so much damage. I hope it can be rescheduled or find an alternative location.

So disappointed, hope no one was hurt in the fire.

That's too bad. I remember hearing about this camp when my brothers were Scouts.

@ingrid01 @gardenfolk @30pics4jackiesdiamond @joansmor @grammyn @tstb13 @randystreat Good news, they are being rescheduled for late July. Hopefully the fire will be out by then. Thankfully, the area burning is inside the Boy Scout Ranch (it's a huge area, over 140,000 acres that backs up to a National Forest, so very rugged mountainous area). So far, only a dozen or so out buildings have been destroyed. Most of the camp is untouched.
