This kid will do almost anything to eat my macaroni and cheese. Once he got off the school bus and rang my doorbell to asked if I had any leftover mac and cheese from a boys scout event the night before. Last night, he walked through the room giving out the last of his mom's brownies (also famous in our troop), then filled the empty container with mac and cheese to take home with him. It's nice to be appreciated! LOL! Funny thing is, I gave his mom my recipe, but he says it just doesn't taste the same! I think I'm going to have to make some mac and cheese and give it to his mom just to see if he says it still doesn't taste right! LOL!
@olenadole@seattlite@grammyn@mcsiegle OK, here's the recipe if you want it. It's quite famous in 5 states.
1 pound cooked elbow macaroni
1 stick unsalted butter (important to use unsalted)
1 can evaporated milk
8 oz Velveta (Wal-mart brand is fine)
1/2 c Cheese Whiz (Wal-mart brand is fine)
8 oz shredded cheddar
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepper
salt to taste (I don’t put any salt, the cheese makes it salty)
Over low heat, heat milk, adding butter and cheeses. Stir until creamy. You may need to add more milk. Don’t add water.
Mix in cooked macaroni.
I put mine in my crockpot, because I often take it places. You can bake it on 350 with a little cheese on top.
