Rub Lincoln's Nose for Luck! by homeschoolmom

Rub Lincoln's Nose for Luck!

Old picture, new editing. A statue of Abraham Lincoln that sets outside his tomb in Springfield, IL. Tourists rub his nose for luck, if they can reach it (it's the correct height for Abraham Lincoln), which is why the nose is still a bright brass.
Ok...I really read your title wrong the first time. I thought it said rubber Lincoln's nose...Where I got that I don't know. LOL...Nice shot.

@tsteall Hahaha! I do stuff like that all the time!
@tuya Before he ran for President he didn't have a beard and a little girl wrote him a letter and told him he'd look better with a beard, that it would make his nose look less big.
@mittens Thanks!

@therubysusan Thanks! One of the perks of having been to the Lincoln Library many times! LOL!

I've passed it but never studied in it. I went through the museum a few years ago they have a 3 minute? 6 minute? Map showing the history of the Civil War now - have you seen it? It's brilliant.

@therubysusan We have gone many times. We love that museum. We used to go every spring with the Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts as part of Lincoln Pilgrimage. I had no idea so many people hated Lincoln until you walk through the area with all of the notes and political cartoons. He was not as well-loved during his day.

@therubysusan We go to a lot of museums. I'd say it's the best one we've ever been to.
