A few strategically placed trash cans catch drips from the leaking roof of the high school gym, but that doesn't stop the game. The boys just dribbled around the drip buckets and tried not to slip on the wet spots in the middle of the court. Needless to say, there was a lot of slipping and sliding and falling down during this game, which we lost.
Before the game started, one of the referees walked up, looked in the trash can, looked up at the ceiling, and said, "Don't forget to vote 'yes' on question 2!" It's quite evident to all in attendance Saturday that the high school is indeed in need of major renovations and they aren't just cosmetic. The building opened in 1966, and it appears that it has had very little renovations (or upkeep, or cleaning) since then. My high schooler is very happy that she's home schooled!
@luvmynynix The newspaper I worked at in IL when we fist moved there was located in the first floor of a 2-story building. When it rained, it just poured inside. One lady sat at her desk under an umbrella to make phone calls. It always amazed me how that was even possible, since there were apartments above us! LOL! @digitalrn The kept falling down and getting back up! LOL!
I had similar problems in a school I taught at. Lines of bins down the corridor and a mini stream entering the school from the playground. Your picture took me straight back!

@ceilidh It does seem to be a common issue of large flat-roofed buildings.
